Animal research

Overview:
We design and manage animal studies across the full product lifecycle from proof of concept, scoping trials, product development, efficacy testing, and regulatory registration.
We are a registered user of animals for scientific purposes under the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (QDPI), and we source independent animal ethics approval for every study we run.
We draw on an established network of both commercial production sites, farms, feedlots, and processing operations, and contracted research facilities for controlled studies, matching the setting to what each trial needs.
Trial Types
We support studies at any stage of the product pathway, including:
Scoping trials - early-stage work to test feasibility and inform trial design.
Proof of concept - small-scale studies to validate a mode of action or product hypothesis before committing to larger programs.
Product development - iterative trials to refine formulation, dose rate, application method, or timing.
Efficacy trials - studies generating the performance data needed to support product claims.
Registration trials - studies designed to meet APVMA or other regulatory data requirements.
Species and Production Systems
We operate across all livestock production systems including:
- Poultry (Egg and meat production)
- Cattle (Grazing systems, feedlots and dairy)
- Sheep (Feedlot, grazing, wool, dairy)
- Goat (Meat, milk, fibre)
- Equine (Racing, companion)
- Pigs
Our network spans commercial-scale operations across these systems, meaning trials can be sited to match the production context most relevant to the product and claim being tested.

Benefits
Commercial relevance, trials sited in real production environments where the question calls for it, producing data that reflects actual on-farm conditions
Controlled research capability, access to contracted research facilities where a study needs tighter environmental or experimental control
Species and system breadth, access across multiple livestock sectors and production types without the overhead of maintaining dedicated facilities
Ethics-first design, every study is scoped and approved before it starts, reducing regulatory risk downstream
End-to-end management, from ethics approval and site selection through to data collection and reporting

Team capabilities
Our team brings over 50 years of combined experience in livestock research, animal health and field trial delivery.
The core team includes PhD qualified researchers and veterinarians, alongside experienced practitioners whose on ground expertise is just as central to trial delivery. This is supplemented by specialist consultants engaged on a project-by-project basis to match the expertise a study requires.
All personnel handling stock are trained in low stock stress handling techniques. All personnel are also approved to work on the relevant project by the Animal Ethics Committee before any handling or data collection begins.
